About Us

Our Mission:
Counterpoint was established in 1993 to fill a unique position in the mental health field: to include the spiritual dimension in emotional and relational healing. Our mission is to help people discover and remove obstacles to their healing and well-being. We offer professional psychotherapy, counseling and education from a Christian perspective. We are committed to following the highest ethical standards, respecting the beliefs of each client, and promoting the well being of the whole person.

Therapeutic Services:
Individual, couple, and family therapy are available from our professional staff, all of whom are licensed. In addition, workshops and retreat on a variety of topics are available to promote emotional wellness and harmony in relationships.
Our educational and therapeutic approach maintains the natural connection between the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of life. It is now widely recognized in the mental health field that understanding and supporting this connection fosters a sound and lasting foundation for treatment of the whole person. Each one of our therapists is committed to the core doctrines of the historic Christian faith, although they are accustomed to working with people who do not share the same beliefs.
Most therapy services are partially covered by health insurance/HMOs. When this is not the case, a sliding fee scale is available for those who qualify.

Personalized Care:
By design, COUNTERPOINT is small, personal, and caring. We deal with intimate wounds and challenges of life and believe that our atmosphere provides a safe haven in which to heal. We also provide four locations in the area that hopefully will make it more convenient for you. It is important for you to know that no matter what presenting problems or symptoms you have, your therapist will determine a method of treatment that meets your individual needs and circumstances.

Resources for Church and Community:
One of our goals is to work closely with pastors and local churches. We offer support to this end in the following ways: counseling consultations, interventions, referral needs, workshop design and implementation for parish needs.
We also seek to encourage and support the development of healthy communities through education and awareness. Most of our staff members are experienced public speakers and would be delighted to address your organization or group.
