1. Will
my insurance pay for your services?
Your best answer is to call your insurance company. Most companies have a
toll-free number for out-patient mental health services on the back of
your insurance card. Sometimes we’re listed under Counterpoint and other
times under the therapist’s name. If we’re not part of your insurance
company’s provider network, see if you have out-of-network benefits.
2. Do
your services need to be pre-authorized by my insurance company?
Most often the answer is yes. Again, just call the number on the back of
your insurance card for out-patient mental health services.
3. Will
my insurance pay for marriage counseling?
Usually not, but they may pay for family counseling or you can be seen
with your spouse to deal with the emotional distress you may be
experiencing as a result of your relationship.
4. What
if my insurance will not pay or if I don’t have any insurance?
We have a sliding fee scale based on your income that should make
counseling affordable for you. Our fees range from $40.00 to $90.00 for a
50 minute session (regardless of how many of your family attend).
5. How
does the Christian part of your therapy work? Do you use the Bible? Do you
pray with your clients?
All of our therapy is influenced by a Christian worldview. Whether we use
the Bible directly in a particular situation will depend on the client and
the problem they area dealing with. We certainly pray for all our clients,
but whether we do this outwardly with a particular client will again
depend on the client and what they feel comfortable with.
6. Do
you have a statement of faith?
Not exactly, although all of our therapists subscribe to the historic
doctrines of the Christian faith found in such places as “The Apostles’
Creed”.
7. How
soon can I make an appointment?
That depends on how flexible your schedule is, who you choose as your
therapist, and which location you want to go to. Usually we can get most
people in within a week or two. Some evening appointments times are
available (sorry, no weekends).
